Twitter is probably one of the fastest growing social networks and the favorite of many travelers to connect with others and find information about new trends, destinations, and tips for other travelers.
From almost hating it and not understanding how it worked or how it could help me build my brand and connections, it is my favorite social network right now and I have connected with incredible people through it, and at the same time is where I find much of the content I usually read during the day.

I have made a little guide to help you to start with Twitter and know a little more about this social network:
TWEET A tweet is a comment or post that has the special feature of only being able to contain 140 characters, including spaces and ratings, making it ideal for conveying accurate and concise information.
HASHTAG Is a word that indicates a specific topic and is highlighted with the symbol “#” located before the word.
They serve to look for topics that you want to follow or news of a subject, as well as to follow people who share a common interest. If you add a # to your tweet this will make it appear in the searches that are done on that topic.
TRENDING TOPICS corresponding to the topics that are being tweeted more times at that moment. There are global and local Trending Topics and they appear in a specific column in Twitter.
What are Twitter Chats
With the beauty and magic of the internet, tourism and travel related people all around the world are able to organize virtual meetings and talk about what we like most: TRAVEL!
Twitter chats are a great way to connect with others with similar interests and are both very entertaining and dynamic.
There are a lot of chats in English about different topics, and much less in Spanish, if you want to practice yours search for #ViajaCHAT every Sunday at 1 pm. Check out the Spanish Twitter Chat details HERE
You can join a Twitter Chat by searching for the corresponding hashtag, for example, #TBINChat, and check that the schedule is the same one in which the chat is done so that you can interact live with those who will be answering a series of questions in real time following the hashtag.

How to participate in a Twitter Chat
Read the questions that will be published by whoever hosts the chat, and comment, interact and connect with everyone using that Hashtag!
The host will tweet questions like this
Q1 Why do you like to travel? #ViajaChat
And your answer should follow this pattern
R1 I like to travel because I like to try new foods #Viajachat
Always remember to include the corresponding hashtag so that the other participants can see your answers and interact with you as only this way will be shown to those who are following the chat.
Twitter chats are generally very fast and interactive.
To be able to follow a chat on Twitter a very good technique is to have open three windows.
- The first to follow the search results of the hashtag #ViajaChat,
- a second to see my interactions and the
- third open in the profile of who is hosting the chat to see the new questions and not get lost.
#ViajaChat (in Spanish since 2015)
It is held every Sunday at 11 am EST (in Chile today it is 12 noon)
