How many times have you been able to fly in a brand new airplane?
Together with a group of travelers and aviation experts made a trip to meet the first Airbus A350 in the Americas.
The airline TAM, a member of LATAM Airlines Group has been a pioneer in incorporating this aircraft to its fleet, being the fourth in the world to begin operating the Airbus A350 XWB and plan to incorporate to its fleet 27 new aircraft of this type 2021 here.
The first flights of the A350 in South America
The inaugural route from Sao Paulo to Manaus was intended to familiarize the crew and other areas of the company in the operational management of this new generation aircraft. The first commercial flight that the A350 XWB (PR-XTA) made was at January 25, 2016.
The first international flight of the A350 is planned in March and the route will be between Sao Paulo and Miami. From April will be added a route between Sao Paulo and Madrid and from the second half of 2016 will include Orlando.
The #A350LATAM experience
With a group of aviation experts and travel bloggers, we started to meet the brand-new Airbus A350, each from their respective destinations in South America invited by LATAM Airlines Group to meet this new and modern aircraft (you can find more publications through hashtag #A350LATAM).
The first meeting was to meet up with who would we share the weekend, that turned out to be perfect. With a lot of friendship and good vibes, which is understandable since everyone in the group share the same passion for travel, aviation and to see the world.
My biggest surprise was to meet another Chilean invited to this experience. Ricardo Delpiano is an expert in business and aviation and founder of www.desdescl.com, you can also find him on Facebook and Twitter

This trip was very special to me, because in addition to having the honor of being one of the first passengers on this aircraft I got to know a destination with which I had dreamed since childhood: Manaus-Brazil, the door to the Brazilian Amazon.
It would also be the first time for us that we would know closely how the TAM crew is training, now on the way to be LATAM Group Airline.
Visiting the TAM Training Academy
The TAM academy, located in the city of Sao Paulo, is the largest in South America and has existed since 2001. In its location, the crew is training to develop service and emergency protocols on board.
Something very interesting we learned during the visit to TAM Training Academy was that many women work in the entire fleet of TAM, both, crew and pilots.
TAM has conducted a special training to those who work directly with the A350, until the date of our visit they had trained more than 350 crew to operate the Airbus A350. They train from land rescue, to aquatic environment, fires and even specifically for rescues in forest environments.
The better part of this visit was that we could be part of the crew training!
The experience #A350LATAM was full of interesting moments and details, like this gift that we received exclusively manufactured with the same materials from which is built the A350. Really cool, uh?
Visiting Manaus, Welcome to Amazonia!
After enjoining an amazing flight with the brand new A350, we went to visit the city of Manaus, with the characteristic warmth of the area that makes you feel you are at the entrance to the jungle: the Amazon. A territory that hosts endless natural beauty and which I always wanted to visit.
During the days of the experience #A350LATAM we had the pleasure of tasting culinary delights of the best of Brazil in restaurants like Brasil a Gosto, Abaré y Banzeiro.
Knowing the Airbus A350
We were able to enter the flight before the rest of the passengers and thus fully appreciate the interior of the aircraft and could also have access to the cab and an interview with the pilot of the A350, who told us how is to be working with this new plane and the training he had done to this.
What is special about the A350?
The Airbus A350 is a last generation plane, which has been created with technology to reduce operating costs up to 25% less fuel, making it more environmentally friendly.

The great innovation that delivers the A350 for its passengers will see it reflected in the design, lighting and air handling inside the cab, which will make a big difference on long trips where. You’ll have less jetlag!
Thanks for sharing the passion for flying and connecting us with the world to:
