I have something to confess: One of my favorite things to do is going out to a restaurant and try new delicious things. Besides traveling, I am a foodie and a lover of good food. Santiago is turning into a foodie city and there are many restaurants, bars and coffee shops to delight and indulge your senses.
Bread has become a big part of Chilean culture, present in almost every meal and every hour of the day, it is common a sandwich being the most important meal of the day. You can find almost everything you can imagine in between two slices of bread.

There are many sandwich restaurants in Santiago, but ‘Donde Guido’ it’s one of the restaurants in Santiago where you can eat the best sandwiches in the city. Thanks to my Bloggers friends from BackPackMe I went to eat the best Peruvian sandwich in Santiago: Donde Guido (check out their awesome blog!).
What stands out is the wide range they have on their sandwiches menu, from different types of bread to the most varied ingredients that make a magical and perfect combination. In ‘Donde Guido’ they rescued all the tradition of the Peruvian sandwich with a beautiful presentation and big portions.
The options to choose goes from fried sweet potato, baked turkey, Grilled pork, homemade burgers, bacon, fried eggs and other delights.
My favorite? The “Hamburguesa campesina”.
All this would be quite common, but what sets sandwiches of Donde Guido as the best Peruvian sandwich in Santiago are the sauces you can add to them: olive sauce, hot pepper, guacamole, yellow pepper, mayonnaise, tartar and all with a beautiful presentation that makes the difference.
The portions are big and suitable for those who tend to eat large quantities, I have never managed to finish a whole one. Almost all sandwiches come with fries, some include them inside the sandwich and other have them as sides.
It has two locations, one in ‘Bellas Artes’ district and another in Providencia, the latter comes with a decoration made especially for them, modern and comfortable chairs and sofas on the second floor.
The service is warm and friendly and will surely make your visit unforgettable, an ideal place for gourmands! Prices are around $ 4500 and also have delicious natural juices and desserts.
