This was the first time that I was staying in a 5 star Hotel and all my expectations were right and more. One detail that I liked was that we received every day fresh fruits in our room, where we had a great view of the Chao Phraya River and the city of Bangkok.
The quality materials used throughout is unparalleled, and the bed is one of my favorites in the world! ( so much so that I decided that when it stops being nomadic want to have that bed in my home )

The Shangri -La Bangkok has a very well equipped gym with sauna and jacuzzi and has a beautiful view of the Chao Phraya River. They conduct regular classes scheduled throughout the week.
Shangri-La Bangkok Location and why to go there
Located along the Chao Phraya River in Shangri -La this location gives you the opportunity, you can take breakfast in the Next2 Café -which serves one of the best buffets in town- watching passing long boats and they even have special areas for feed the fish in the river ( I must confess I spent several minutes playing with them).
The Hotel has 5 restaurants and 3 bar-lounge areas, all of extraordinary quality.
The Restaurant we had the pleasure of meeting further was the Shang Palace, serving traditional Cantonese food, they gave us a 12-course dinner which was one of the best and most impressive dinners of my life.
Arriving at breakfast you will find an almost endless variety of dishes -Thai and western style- such as cakes, freshly baked breads and cheeses, many cheeses.
When looking for details in Shangri -La you can find almost anything you can imagine, apart of the jewelry stores that exist within it there is a store dedicated exclusively to chocolate! The Chocolate Boutique, with its own Chocolatier who makes beautiful and delicious creations especially for Shangri -La Bangkok.
The Shangri -La in Bangkok has an unbeatable location. On the banks of the Chao Phraya river and close to Shopping and the Sky train-BTS, one of the most used public transports in the city. You will have access to their lovely boat (complimentary for guests) that takes you to and from the Shopping and Restaurant area called Asiatique, the public boats are located right outside the BTS Station which takes you to Wat -Po and the Royal Palace.
