IBEROSTAR Praia do Forte, paradise exists and is in Salvador de Bahia

When the same place combines luxury, comfort, good service with beach and palm trees, it has everything to be the perfect place to choose it when traveling.

IBEROSTAR invited me together with a group of journalists to meet Salvador de Bahia in Brazil and to enjoy the facilities of Praia do Forte and Bahia.

As always, this review will show you how my experience was and although it was an invitation, I am not forced to tell you only the good, but there are times when the good is really what stands out.

Why choose Iberostar Praia do Forte or Bahia

Although the All-Inclusive concept is not attractive to all travelers for the most diverse reasons, I must say that there are times when you enjoy and appreciate having everything in one place.
Especially when the service is 5 Stars as in Iberostar Praia do Forte and Bahia at a very good price, starting from USD115 pp/pn.

It is the ideal system for when you want to rest and have a time with your partner, friends or family without having to plan all the time what you want to do, where to go to eat, etc.

At the Iberostar, the big difference with other hotels of this type is that they take a lot of importance in having activities for all tastes. It is still a family oriented hotel, but also travelers in a couple or with friends will have everything necessary to have a perfect stay.

 

The place and setting

The beach in this area is a deserted beach, long and endless, with endless palm trees and coral reefs, best of all is that it is suitable for taking baths.
It is also a protected area for turtles, protected by IBAMA, so it is forbidden to build anything near the beach and is also a passage area for humpback whales. This makes it visually a delight and maintains a very natural and little invaded by man.

One of the most beautiful places in Brazil, located very close to the town of Praia do Forte, can be reached even walking along the beach in less than an hour.

 

 

In Praia do Forte you can enjoy a quiet walk along the main street, full of restaurants and shops with beautiful beach clothes and good prices. At the end of this street and after passing through the fishing creek is the Tamar project, which carries out education and conservation of turtles and other marine creatures in the area. Very interesting to visit!

 

The turtles return to the same place where they were born to lay eggs the time of birth from December to March for spawning can be asked to accompany the scientists to see the birth.

A little more than an hour, the city of Salvador de Bahia, with all the history and culture that has in each of its streets. It is a very interesting place to visit and admire the architectural beauties.

The installations

In a very well-kept environment, with colonial-style constructions and palm trees that decorate the horizon, the two adjoining resorts, IBEROSTAR Praia do Forte and Bahia, have slightly different styles.

They have activities and facilities designed for everyone, from outdoor activities and also to enjoy the night.

Both adults and children have a special place, there are special services like a Mini-Club for children from 4 to 12 years old, cars and baby cots, chairs and bathtubs, nannies and specialized baby kitchen.

Tennis Courts, Volley Beach, outdoor pools with music and other quieter ones, jacuzzi, gym, soccer field, and rifle shooting and dance classes.

 

 

In total 6 bars, 2 discotheques and 2 amphitheaters liven the night with shows of very good quality. They vary daily and range from traditional Brazilian music to rock.

The Iberostar Bahía is designed for groups and families and its architecture is colonial style and very colorful. Praia do Forte is more simple and modern.

What stands out in both is the beauty and care of its gardens, all different, with entertaining designs on the roads and the lush flora of the area around.

 

The Star PRESTIGE experience

For those who want to have a truly luxurious experience, the Star Prestige is the premium service for adults only, adding 250 reais per person will give you access to the Star Prestige areas.

 

It has controlled access and is for all the guests of the room during the last three days of the stay. This gives you the right to use the pools and enabled areas but also special services in restaurants, with the right to more reserves and also to the wet areas of the spa.

In the exclusive pool area, there is a bar with a varied offer, a wine cellar, sweet and savory snacks and special attention for those who enter this sector. I mean … They bring champagne to the same pool!

They treated us wonderfully and we also met these friendly friends sharing with us our Prestige experience.

 

The rooms

The Iberostar hotel chain has recently incorporated new categories for its rooms, having today 6 different categories.

At Iberostar Bahía, there are 632 rooms, of which there are 274 Superior single and 280 Superior Twin, 70 Junior Suite and 2 Presidential Suites. The superior rooms have 36m2 and the Junior 41m2. The main difference is that all suites have hammocks and 10m2 more than in Bahia.

The Iberostar Praia do Forte has 536 rooms, of which there are 221 Superior single and 205 Superior Twin, 102 Junior Suite and 2 Presidential Suites. The superior rooms are more spacious and have 46m2 and the Junior 51m2. They also have a coffee maker, ironing board, and room service.

They are really huge, I had the feeling of having a whole apartment to myself during my stay. A sitting area with armchairs and a hammock on the balcony overlooking the sea and palm trees!

The bathroom is very spacious, including separate bath and shower.

All rooms have 32 “LCD TV and satellite TV, minibar with drinks included, hair dryer, air conditioning and fan and safe.
The beds were very comfortable and the sheets were of good quality, with nice touches like the funny animals made with towels that left me every day giving more warmth upon arrival.

 

The gastronomy

Something that stands out and characterizes IBEROSTAR hotels is the quality of its gastronomy.
Many people avoid the All-Inclusive because they have the idea of the typical Buffet, with basic food, without flavor and wholesale. But in the Iberostar, they take the gastronomy and the quality in serious.

 

There are 11 restaurants of which 6 belong to the Iberostar BAHÍA.
At the Iberostar Praia do Forte you will find the Odoiá, a restaurant that opens every day and has 120 silverware. The Buffet restaurant runs all day until 5 in the morning and is for 450 people.

There are restaurants of specialties like Japanese, Chinese-Thai, Italian Food in the Do Lago, that work with a reservation system that is made on the table of public relations.
Some have clothing restrictions and require entry with shoes and long pants, even some can’t enter with children.

 

 

How to get there

The Iberostar Praia do Forte and Bahia is located 75 km from Salvador de Bahia, to reach the Iberostar it is necessary to reach the city of Salvador de Bahia.

The international airport is El Salvador International Airport Deputy Luis Eduardo Magalhães (IATA Code: SSA; ICAO Code: SBSV), popularly known also for its old name: Dois de Julho International Airport. It receives flights from national connections like Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro.

I arrived on a flight connecting Santiago de Chile-Sao Paulo-Salvador.
There are also bus lines that connect with other cities in Brazil.

From any of them, you can hire a transfer or taxi that takes you directly to the Iberostar which is very close to the town of Praia do Forte.

 

When to go

The area has a privileged tropical climate with constant temperatures during the year, fluctuating between 21ºC and 30ºC. The rainiest months are from April to July.
